Cancer – what next?

After the diagnosis, most people are in shock, and their minds are mainly filled with confusion and panic. Our knowledge about the disease often consists of various stereotypes and third-hand information. Meanwhile, it is a time when we must quickly make important decisions that will affect our entire future lives.

However, instead of blindly following the first medical opinion and immediately starting treatment, it is worth stopping for a moment and answering a few questions:

  • Do I trust my doctor?
  • Do I agree with his diagnosis and proposed treatment route?
  • Do I feel that I have received satisfactory answers to all my questions and that I feel OK with them?
  • Have all my doubts been cleared?

If your answer to any question is "no" - remember, you have the right to a second medical opinion!

Take a proactive approach to your illness - after all, it affects you, so treat yourself as best you can! Search, ask, but only use reliable sources, do not waste time reading opinions on the Internet and do not believe the stories you hear from other patients - each person has an opinion, and each disease is a little different, each body reacts differently to treatment .

There are many reliable sources you can use.
