Silesian Nursery

A tree library, a dedicated line of reflective clothing, a community garden and a Creative Volunteer Zone. These are just a few of the activities that will be carried out by seniors and volunteers from the Silesian Voivodeship as part of the Rakiety Oncological Foundation program co-financed by the multi-annual program for older people "Aktywni+" for 2021-2025

Recruitment is underway for a unique program addressed to seniors and the local community. Participants work in three zones:

  • in Katowice in the Social Garden zone, where they are designing a social garden and growing plants that will be delivered to oncology patients during Christmas
  • in Chorzów in the Fashionable Nursery Zone, where they create fashionable reflective clothes and talk about road safety in autumn and winter
  • in Świętochłowice in the Creative Volunteers Zone, where they work on the Effective Support Guide, forms of volunteer assistance for oncological patients

The finale of the program will include a reflective fashion show with the participation of participants and representatives of the local community, joint decorating of Christmas trees in the Community Garden Zone combined with reading fairy tales from the tree library, an online Christmas Eve with oncology patients who will spend Christmas in the hospital combined with the presentation of plants. grown by the participants of the Social Garden Zone and the Effective Support Guide, the ceremonial presentation of certificates to the participants of the Effective Support Zone and the inauguration of the activities of volunteer groups for people with oncology.

Who can take part in the program?

– people over 60 years of age living in the Silesian Voivodeship (90 people)

– people under 60 years of age living in the Silesian Voivodeship (18 people)

– volunteers of all ages to support ongoing activities
