The Rakiety Oncological Foundation is starting to accept applications for the "Respite Care" program for Non-Governmental Organizations – 2026 edition as part of the Ministry's Program of the Minister of Family and Social Policy financed by the Solidarity Fund.

PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD: 01/01/2026 – 31/12/2026.

The main objective of the Program is to support family members or caregivers providing direct care to people with disabilities who have:

– certificate of significant disability

or

– a decision treated as equivalent to the decision referred to in letter a, in accordance with Article 5 and Article 62 of the Act of 27 August 1997 on vocational and social rehabilitation and employment of disabled persons (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 100, as amended)

by enabling access to ad hoc, temporary assistance in the form of respite care services, i.e., relieving the burden of daily caregiving responsibilities by providing temporary replacement. Respite care services can also serve to temporarily meet the needs of a person with a disability when family members or caregivers are unable to perform their duties for various reasons.

Respite care services are available when a family member or guardian mentioned above lives in the same household as a person with a disability who requires constant care for everyday needs.

The program is implemented in the form of providing respite care services as part of a daily stay in the place of residence of a person with disabilities.

Respite care services may only be provided by persons:
– of legal age,
– persons with disabilities who are not family members,
– who are not her legal guardians,
– not living together with a person with a disability.

When granting care services, priority is given to the needs of family members or caregivers providing direct care to a person with a disability who permanently resides at home and does not use, for example, a support center, a 24-hour care facility, a community self-help home, a day care center, an occupational therapy workshop, or who is unemployed, studying or learning.
