The Rakiety Oncological Foundation is recruiting for the "E-self-reliance" project co-financed by the "Aktywni+" multi-annual program for the elderly for 2021-2025.
As part of the project, an offer of digital competence courses was developed for 90 people aged 60+ from the Warsaw agglomeration and the former Upper Silesian Metropolitan Association. The courses will be held in Warsaw, Katowice and Chorzów.
We invite seniors who are ready to acquire new and/or improve their existing skills in the field of digital competences to participate in the project, including, above all, operating a computer, smartphone, tablet and using modern tools and technologies, e.g. useful applications to improve the quality of everyday life. People who already have certain digital skills, as well as beginners - those who have not used digital devices before - can participate in the courses. Thanks to the wide spectrum of topics offered in the project, it will be possible to adapt the training to the participant's current level of knowledge and select a package of courses best suited to individual needs, interests and the desired level of knowledge.
Course topics:
MODULE I – Using computer/phone/tablet tools for beginners (each course lasts 16 hours)
- Computer/laptop/tablet* for beginners
- Smartphone/mobile phone* for beginners
MODULE II – Introduction to the Internet for beginners and intermediate users, 10 hours.
Basics of using the Internet (e.g. browser operation, searching for information, photos, graphics, catalog of favorite websites, downloading files and saving them, improving readability, websites, sharing information, Internet addresses, communication via the Internet (Skype, Whatsapp, social media, mail), e-mail and Gmail clouds)
MODULE III – Internet for advanced users (each course lasts on average 10 hours)
- E-Banking
(e.g. security and threats, electronic payments (credit card, fast transfers, Blik, SkyCash, dotpay, PayPal, popular banking applications for the phone, qualified signature/trusted profile) - E-health
(e.g. registration with doctors, rankings of doctors, registration for vaccinations, checking test results, e-prescription, checking the waiting time for an appointment with a specialist/sanatorium) - E-services
(e.g. ticket/insurance/etc. comparison websites, online shopping and threats, opinions about the seller, Allegro, ebay, Amazon, food delivery (Uber eat, delicious.pl), second-hand goods exchanges Olx, otomoto, przedmy.pl) - Social media (Facebook and Twitter)
(e.g. creating an account, description of functionality and privacy settings, publication of posts and photos) - E-administration, E-citizen
(e.g. eligible signature/trusted profile, handling matters in offices, changing documents, updating data/ID card/driving license + important pages, legal regulations - where to look for current ones, GDPR and the Internet, participatory budget, e-declarations) - Entertainment on the Internet
(e.g. films, music, online repertoire and tickets to cultural places, YouTube, vod services, Spotify, internet radios, thematic blogs, games, educational platforms, thematic discussion forums, website translations, dictionaries and text translation tools) - E-tourism
(e.g. accommodation reservations (Booking, Airbnb), purchase of train, bus, bus tickets, timetables, reservation changes, ticket refunds, Blablacar, Couchsurfing, transport in a foreign place - Google maps, alternative passenger transport (Bolt/Uber), local timetable ("How do I get there", virtual sightseeing/walking)
Gathering at least 4 people people willing to take a given course will allow it to be launched.
Courses are conducted in small groups while maintaining the sanitary requirements applicable and current at the time of the course.
Project participants will also have the opportunity to take part in the webinar "Internet pitfalls - everyday security", during which they will learn how to use the Internet safely, what threats they must face and how to effectively protect themselves against them.
