On May 8-10, 2026, the Rakiety Oncology Foundation participated in one of the most important European events dedicated to integrative oncology – the second edition of the Society for Integrative Oncology Europe congress, organized jointly with ARTOI (Foundation for Research of Integrative Oncology Therapies). The main theme – „"From Ancient Wisdom to Modern Integration"” – fully captures the spirit of this meeting: combining thousands of years of knowledge about healing with modern, evidence-based medicine.
The congress was attended by over 400 participants and 170 speakers – researchers, physicians, nurses, and integrative care specialists. Three days of intensive exchange of knowledge and clinical experiences demonstrated the dynamic development of the field combining conventional oncological treatment with scientifically validated supportive therapies.
For the first time, research on the cost-effectiveness of the integrated approach was presented – an argument that could have a real impact on systemic decisions. Specific projects and ideas for implementing this model of care into healthcare systems were also discussed.
For us, as a foundation, this is a huge motivation for further work. We return from Rome with new knowledge, contacts, and a clear goal: to bring proven, evidence-based solutions to Poland, so that cancer patients in Poland have access to the highest standards of integrative care.
