I've been treated for drug-resistant epilepsy since I was two years old. At 17, I was diagnosed with two epileptic seizures on both sides of my hippocampus, as well as a tumor on the right side. At 21, I underwent surgery to remove the tumor and hippocampus. Histopathology results indicated it was not malignant. I've been under constant observation by a neurologist since then. In 2023, a recurrence of the brain tumor was detected on the other side of my temple, also on the hippocampus. This time, a biopsy revealed it to be malignant (astrocytoma, CNS WHO G3). Currently, the tumor is inoperable. Surgical removal would require removal of the tumor, the other hippocampus, and the amygdala, which could lead to drastic and permanent changes in memory function. I am currently undergoing radical chemotherapy and radiotherapy in Wieliszew. The side effects of the treatment are very bothersome for me – I'm losing my memory, I often experience dizziness and headaches, and I'm weak. I'm constantly under my parents' care. I travel to doctor's appointments with my mother, but it's quite a challenge, as we travel 40 km each way. My cancer treatment has also affected my liver and kidneys. I take medications that are very expensive. Private visits to specialists are also a financial challenge. I would be very grateful for any financial assistance.
