This May will mark 4 years since Krzysztof and our family were diagnosed with colon cancer. A lot has happened since that memorable diagnosis. He underwent surgery, during which a stoma was created. Unfortunately, despite all the hardships, it was not possible to avoid liver metastases, which results in further treatment. However, our fight is becoming increasingly difficult. The National Health Fund limits access to necessary therapies, giving the patient only one chance to use a given treatment. The current test results are not satisfactory - the metastases on the liver have grown, and new lesions have also appeared on the lungs.

Additionally, the situation is complicated by the fact that we are forced to act on our own because doctors do not offer alternatives. We use the benefits of unconventional treatment methods, unfortunately not covered by National Health Fund reimbursement. The cost of monthly treatment is approximately PLN 6,500, which makes it extremely difficult for us to cover it without the support of people of good will.

Therefore, we would like to thank you very much for every gesture of support we receive from you. Your help not only helps us cover medical costs, but also gives us strength and hope in difficult times.

June 23 marked exactly 3 years since my husband Krzysztof's surgery. Three years ago, we began an unequal fight against an insidious disease that fell on our family like a bolt from the sky. This time was filled with both success and failure. We are fighting all the time and we are seeing results because the disease has regressed!

Unfortunately, we still have to bear the costs of chemotherapy treatment in a public hospital. Combined with supportive therapy, the monthly cost of treatment is PLN 7,000.

We really want to win the next fight, the whole battle, which is possible thanks to our perseverance, determination and the help of wonderful people.

My husband Krzysztof turned 50 in June. Previously, he was almost never sick. Therefore with
diagnosed in May 2020 - advanced colorectal cancer - our world collapsed. While
After surgery, the tumor was removed, then there was chemotherapy and our actions to support the treatment.
We looked for help everywhere. It paid off. The intestine was clean. Unfortunately, we didn't have it long
enjoy this fact. Thanks to the money collected by the Rakiety Foundation and the support of wonderful people
people, my husband was examined with a bioscanner and it turned out that, unfortunately, there was a metastasis to the liver.
Quick reaction in the hospital, another chemotherapy with antibodies was immediately ordered. Supposedly the best
but not for my husband. It didn't work. The July CT scan showed enlargement of the lesions on the liver.
And again, thanks to the support of many wonderful people, we used unconventional methods
treatment. It's worth it, there is an effect - it's better. Unfortunately, we now also have to pay for conventional treatment
pay. To save my husband's health, doctors had to go back to the first chemotherapy, and this
According to the regulations in our country, the sick person is not entitled to treatment a second time. Total costs of my husband's treatment
currently it is about PLN 7,000 per month.
My dream is to be able to fulfill my husband's dream (and mine too, of course), who to some extent
moment of treatment, he said: "I won the battle, I want to win the war against cancer."

We have just finished the bioscanner examination, thanks to the money collected by the foundation this was possible. It's a good thing we did it, because it turned out that my husband had liver metastases. The current tests in the hospital showed nothing, so if it weren't for this test, we wouldn't know anything. We will try to perform radioembolization treatment. We hope that it will go to the National Health Fund. Currently, we have implemented treatment that will last until radioembolization begins, and its cost is PLN 1,000 per week.

Dream:

Ela, Krzysztof's wife:

A year ago, after 3 months of "remote" treatment of pseudocystitis and urinary tract inflammation, my husband finally received a referral for a coloscopy. It was May 2020. After the examination, during the consultation, the doctor's first words were: Ladies and gentlemen, it is very bad, the lumen of the large intestine is clogged, there is a tumor.
A sample was taken and a few days later I received a phone call to get the results as soon as possible, because it was cancer - malignant tumor of the rectum, G3, i.e. the highest degree of malignancy.
My husband lost a lot of weight in a very short time and was unable to sit due to the pain. He had never been sick before and took care of himself. And suddenly shock and disbelief - a diagnosis that no one expected.
When going for the operation, he only said that he was afraid. But also that he wants them to cut something out of him.
Even before the surgery, he was informed that he would have a stoma installed. Krzysztof did not hide his surprise, but also anger - what kind of stoma? He called me and asked: Come to the training, because I don't want to see or touch it.
The surgery was successful, although a lot was removed. In total, he was in the hospital for almost a month - a long time, but there he learned to talk about the disease, got used to it and to the stoma.
After all this, he became very weak. That's why we combined conventional and unconventional treatment. Strengthening treatments, infusions, supplements - huge costs, but worth it.
We have won some battles, but we want to win the war against cancer.
