The metastases in the nodes, lungs and aorta still persist, so I am still undergoing chemotherapy and taking further doses every three weeks. I am currently waiting for the CT scan results and the further treatment will depend on it. I will most likely have to continue chemotherapy treatment.
I feel the impact of this intense and long-term treatment on my body - my legs are slowly giving out due to swelling. In addition, I am weak and do not have the strength to do many activities that I would like to do. I support myself with supplements, medications and healthy eating, which is a financial challenge for our family. Additionally, systematic travel for treatment and visits to specialists. All this generates high costs.
My eight-year-old son is my greatest motivation to fight for my health. I appreciate every day spent with my family and I want as many moments like this as possible.
I would like to thank all donors for their support and I will be extremely grateful for any further donation.
Dream:
My name is Dorota and I am 47 years old, and this is my "crawling" story. Some time ago, malignant tumor seemed to be something completely foreign and unknown. Now it's my everyday life.
Everything changed in December 2020, when, due to disturbing symptoms, I went for a doctor's consultation. The result of the collected sample gave the diagnosis: malignant anal cancer. Starting the new year 2021 was far from my dreams. I was supposed to start a new job, and my husband and preschool-age son were supposed to spend their days peacefully in the countryside. Instead, we had to start taking action and fighting: tests, hospital, daily treatment.
After several months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, I underwent check-ups. I was hoping for improvement, but unfortunately life surprised me again. Appeared metastases on the lymph nodes near the aorta. The decision was made to undergo surgery, but due to the problematic location of the tumor, the expected results were not achieved.
From February 2021, I had to give up my professional job and take out a disability pension, which limits our financial possibilities to fight my cancer. At times I feel like I'm losing strength, especially when I'm alone in the hospital during treatment, away from my family. Despite this, I am learning all the time, I know that in the fight against the disease it is important to constantly think positively and strengthen the body. That's why I take care of a proper diet, which, unfortunately, together with the costs of medicines and travel to treatment, is a huge financial burden for me.
The period of fighting the disease completely reevaluated my life and plans. Currently, I want to fight to recover and fulfill my dream - to see my son Kacper (6 years old) learn, grow up, succeed, and one day raise his own children. I want to get as much time as possible for us, but for this I need your help.
