My history

Updates:

Updated on February 10, 2026

„"You are a walking miracle"” I recently heard these words from a lovely lady at the parish office. And I think there's actually something to it.

It's been 20 months since my diagnosis and a year since my second surgery. I'm slowly slipping away from the statistics. In November, I finished my 12th cycle of chemotherapy, and January's resonance, to my immense gratitude, turned out perfectly.

However, I am fully aware that glioma, especially stage IV, is an exceptionally insidious opponent. That's why I'm doing everything in my power to defeat it. I'm undergoing treatment in Warsaw, Bydgoszcz, Krakow, and Gliwice. I also use non-reimbursed therapies, supplements, and other supportive methods, as standard treatment has little left for me. I'm also constantly searching for innovative therapies and preparations both in Poland and abroad.

I'm not going to give up. Every day is a gift from God to me.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support in this unequal fight!

Dream:

My name is Bolesław, I am 42 years old, and although my everyday life is far from the “royal” life befitting a Bolesław, I am a truly lucky man – I have a loving wife and two wonderful sons.

Unfortunately, a few months ago, in May 2024, our happy, orderly life ended irrevocably when my several-day, inconspicuous headache and sudden fainting turned out to be a symptom of a huge brain tumor (7.2 cm x 6.5 cm). As later tests confirmed, it was one of the worst tumors - a diffuse malignant brain tumor of glial origin, stage IV.

The shock and disbelief we experienced are hard to describe in words. I had virtually no symptoms, and was in good health and physical condition.

“You are too healthy to be sick…” – this is how one of the doctors summed up my situation. So I decided to stick to it. I have already had two complicated neurosurgical operations (in May 2024 and January 2025), which I successfully underwent without any side effects, and I finished six weeks of radiotherapy and chemotherapy (in September 2024) with the best blood results in the department. I am currently gathering strength after the last, difficult and risky operation to start the next cycles of chemo.

“Chin up and move forward” – that’s what we used to say with my dear friend, also suffering from cancer, who is unfortunately no longer with us… This is what I tell myself every day and this is how I intend to live. I owe it to my beloved wife who fights for me like no one else, to my sons who fill me with strength and hope with their childlike joy, to my family and friends on whose help I can always count. In God and in them I have the greatest support that a person struggling with cancer can have.

However, I am aware that standard treatment methods are very limited, so I have to reach further and look for additional, non-reimbursed therapies to find the most effective weapon against this extremely aggressive cancer. I have to support my body with numerous supplements, therapies and a proper diet to be strong and ready to fight this ruthless opponent. All this generates significant costs, to which are added additional expenses for numerous consultations, tests and travel, which, along with the disease, have become the daily life of our family.

So thank you for all your support – both spiritual and material, because each is priceless in this unequal fight for another day of life with my wife, children, loved ones and friends…

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Boleslaw, Alicja and the whole family
