In June 2024 I was diagnosed with: malignant cancer of the colon. Just a few months earlier, I accompanied my close friend who died in April 2024 from pancreatic cancer, diagnosed in November 2023. I was with him throughout his illness, answering difficult questions: "How long will I live?", "What will happen to my family?", "What is on the other side?"

I didn’t expect the same questions to become my reality. After his death, I started looking at my health. Blood in my stool prompted me to get a colonoscopy, which confirmed my fears.

The doctors at the clinic suggested a radical solution – removing the intestine and installing a stoma, which would involve wearing a bag on my stomach. I was not and am not ready for such a method. I do not want my beloved grandchildren – my 8-year-old granddaughter and 3-year-old grandson – to ask me: "Grandma, why do you have poop on your stomach?"

I decided to use alternative methods of treatment, which are very expensive. Monthly therapy includes vitamin infusions, anti-cancer infusions, drugs such as Ivermectin and Fenbendazole. Unfortunately, in Poland this treatment is not reimbursed (unlike in Germany), and its the cost is approximately PLN 10,000 per month.

My savings, set aside for a peaceful retirement, are already running out. The results of the treatment are getting better, but the lack of funds to continue it keeps me awake at night. My biggest dream is to see my grandchildren grow up, how they find their way in this difficult world.
