My name is Wiesław, I am 62 years old. I was born and live in beautiful Kalisz. My illness appeared like a bolt from the blue. For some time I started to experience gastric problems and suddenly I lost a lot of weight (20 kg). This worried me very much, so I underwent tests. On the last day of August 2023, I went to hospital and heard the sentence: tumor of the head of the pancreas (9 x 6 x 5 cm) with infiltration into the peritoneal cavity.

It wasn't long before everything started falling like dominoes. I was diagnosed by several doctors. I still remember the words of one of them: 'The tumor is inoperable. If I decided to operate, you could go down on the operating table. Endosonography clearly showed that it was a malignant tumor. I also underwent a bile duct replacement due to very high bilirubin.

I started chemotherapy. I have already taken my second dose. For now, the results are good and I hope this situation will continue. The first stage of my treatment involves receiving chemotherapy for six months in biweekly cycles. I decided to undergo treatment in Warsaw, at the MSWIA Hospital. All visits, including private ones, involved the costs of the consultation itself and travel costs.

I am asking you for help. If it weren't for the great commitment of my beloved wife Beatka and the help of my loved ones, family and friends, I wouldn't have been able to cope on my own. I would like to go for a walk with my grandchildren, my wife and my family. I would like to go back to work for a while and meet my friends. I have such simple, ordinary dreams: to live and be able to enjoy this life as before.
