In December 2023 I was diagnosed – Stage IV clear cell renal cell carcinoma, with multiple metastases to the spine and lungsIt was a huge shock for me. I didn't know how to tell my wife and daughter. The doctor decided to speak to my daughter first—very gently. She, in turn, spent half a day gathering her strength to break the news to her mother, who has been struggling with a serious illness for years. She has rheumatoid arthritis and is certified as severely disabled. It was a moment filled with helplessness and fear. We didn't know what to do next. I felt like fate was putting our family through another difficult test. All of this happened during the war, which had already robbed us of our sense of security.

So far, I've undergone 10 courses of radiotherapy, 3 cycles of targeted therapy with sunitinib, treatment with zoledronic acid, embolization of the affected kidney (its removal was impossible), 8 unsuccessful cycles of everolimus, consultations with specialists, including those from Israel, and qualification for CAR-T therapy, which was, however, suspended. Despite treatment, the disease progresses – I currently also have metastases to the pancreasI'm not receiving any treatment, and my only hope is expensive immunotherapy, which my family and I are trying to raise the money for.

The only realistic option, consistent with European protocols, is immunotherapy—Pembrolizumab (Keytruda) combined with Axitinib. Three initial cycles are planned, after which doctors will assess the body's response and decide on further treatment. Therapy could last several months or longer, depending on the results.

Unfortunately, all savings were consumed by earlier stages of treatment, diagnosis and care. We now urgently need resources to begin treatment before the disease progresses further.

I've been active my entire life, practicing mountaineering and boxing in my youth, working, and supporting my family. Despite the pain and devastating illness, I try to maintain my spirits. I dream of returning to a normal life, being with my family, going on vacation with my wife and daughter, sitting down at the table without pain or fear. I want to return to work and regain the daily routine that the disease robbed me of. My greatest desire is to see my grandchildren and be a part of their lives.
