My history
Dream:
My name is Teresa. I am a mother, grandmother, and retired teacher. I am reaching out to you with a huge request for help in financing the therapy that gives me hope that my illness will be cured and that I will be able to spend more time with my beloved family.
For 35 years, I worked as a primary school and religious education teacher – with passion, dedication, and a heart for my students. I nurtured many wonderful children who still remember me fondly. Today, I need support myself. I have three wonderful daughters, sons-in-law, and a host of grandchildren. In September, I became a grandmother again – and twice! I want to be a part of their lives for a long time. To be able to read them stories, laugh with them, and simply to be.
In 2015, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. After breast-conserving surgery and an unsuccessful attempt at chemotherapy (due to severe intolerance), I opted for expensive treatment at a private clinic. I paid for the treatment myself, using savings I'd been saving for a rainy day. Unfortunately, the disease returned in 2016. I underwent a mastectomy, and the post-operative diagnosis gave me hope – no more cancer cells were detected. I then focused on a healthy lifestyle, planted a garden, and consistently took care of myself, believing that the cancer would never return. In February 2024, I received another diagnosis: cancer of the head of the pancreas.
Fortunately, the tumor was operable – I underwent a complex surgery that was successful. Unfortunately, tests revealed metastases to three lymph nodes. I was given mFOLFIRINOX chemotherapy, but after two cycles, my body was unable to tolerate it again. Once again, I faced a difficult choice – I returned to supportive care at a private clinic, which had previously yielded good results. I financed this treatment myself.
In August 2025, metastases appeared in the lymph nodes in the abdominal cavity. Fortunately, the rest of my organs remain cancer-free. They decided to switch to a lighter chemotherapy regimen, which I'm currently receiving – I've completed two courses. In consultation with my oncologist, I began supportive therapy aimed at strengthening my body and increasing the effectiveness of the treatment.
This therapy takes place in a private clinic in Krakow, requires regular travel and, unfortunately, is beyond my financial capabilities.
I am asking for your help, every donation, every share of this fundraiser gives me hope that I will be able to continue treatment and simply move on with my life. I want to support my daughters in their daily joys and challenges. I dream that my grandchildren will remember me—not just through stories. And I would love to see my youngest daughter in a white dress as she begins her new path in life.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the support you have given me.
I surround all of you with my prayers and gratitude.
Teresa
