My husband Michał is 40 years old… we have a 13-year-old daughter and our whole lives ahead of us. Today, every single day counts for him.

Just two months ago, we were convinced we had an ordinary, happy life ahead of us. We had each other. We were healthy. We had plans, dreams, and everyday problems that seemed most important at the time.

And suddenly, one day, one examination and one opinion from the doctor were enough for everything to change.. It seemed like an ordinary migraine. The kind we'd had before. This time, however, painkillers didn't help. We went to the hospital, convinced Michał would get a painkiller injection and we'd go home. A CT scan revealed a massive brain tumor, approximately 6 x 7 cm. To this day, it's hard for us to believe the tumor had grown so large without any obvious symptoms. Everyone, including the doctors, was surprised.

Michał underwent a very difficult operation. Due to its extensive size, the tumor could not be completely removed. Although he recovered very quickly after the surgery, the diagnosis brought our world crashing down for a second time: Glioblastoma multiforme grade IV – the most aggressive type of cancer we have ever faced.

Michał is currently undergoing intensive radiotherapy and chemotherapy, which will last approximately six weeks. He still has a long and extremely difficult road ahead of him. Unfortunately, we know the prognosis and statistics for this type of cancer – recurrence is only a matter of time.

We will seek treatment options wherever possible.

Currently, the most promising treatment is TT Fields Optune (Tumor Treating Fields), a therapy that uses electric fields to inhibit glioma cell division. It's already reimbursed in many countries—unfortunately, not in Poland. Its unsubsidized cost is enormous! It's approximately 120,000 PLN per month! Therapy should begin as soon as possible after completing radiotherapy and chemotherapy, which is approximately five weeks later, and, according to the treatment plan, last for at least two years.

This means amounts that we cannot bear on our own.

That's why today, for the first time in my life we need to ask for help.

You also need:

– detailed molecular studies of the tumor, which can help select targeted treatment – cost approximately PLN 30,000,

– consultations and treatment outside Poland, including special targeted vaccines prepared individually based on molecular examination of the tumor, which the cost is several hundred thousand zlotys!

– rehabilitation,

– medications, tests and all the costs that will arise during this long journey.
