My history
Collection for:
medical consultations, tests, medications, supplements, rehabilitation and travel costs
Dream:
On the day I returned from vacation in August 2022, I swam in the lake for a long time and jumped off the pier. Fortunately, I did not drown then. Unfortunately, on the way home, I lost consciousness in the car, in the parking lot under my apartment building in Wrocław. Fortunately, the driver was my husband, Adam, who immediately took me to the hospital. After tests, the diagnosis was: Grade 2 glioma with an IDH 1 mutation, which was inoperable. The possibility of applying for proton therapy became a hope, and my case qualified for modern treatment under the National Health Fund. I underwent proton therapy from November to December 2022. Unfortunately, my body did not accept standard chemotherapy: out of six recommended courses, I could only undergo two. Ultimately, it was good, because the losses associated with chemo outweighed the benefits.
I am currently moderately disabled and on temporary disability pension., which I devote to stabilizing my health. Since the beginning of the healing process, I have been and still am under the care of a dietician, I use normobaria (which oxygenates the brain and stimulates stem cells), and I also undergo cardiology treatment. I regularly consult neurologists and neurosurgeons and go to consultations in Krakow. I have undergone individual physical rehabilitation, and I can currently participate in group classes adapted to my abilities.
From the very beginning I was focused on life. I participated in therapy for oncological patients using the Simonton method and I take part in conferences and workshops for professionals and oncological patients. I also completed a stress reduction course using the breathing method. I try to fight for my health every day as much as I can.
I am grateful for the warm and heartfelt support of my closest and extended family, friends, acquaintances, co-workers, neighbors and people I met during my education, shared passions and on the path to recovery. Without you, my dears, I would not be able to function in good condition. Your concern for me and my loved ones: husband Adam and children: Rozalka (18 years old) and Jurek (13 years old), moves me very much. I try to take care of my spirit, emotions and body, I appreciate the "here and now" and I do not deny my limitations related to the disease, wanting to live meaningfully.
I'm starting a collection because a new drug has appeared on the medical market that targets my type of brain tumor, which will be available in Poland at the turn of December 2024 and January 2025. Unofficial price lists show that the drug is very expensive and, according to medical information, treatment with this preparation will last two years. I would like to be treated in Wrocław, so as not to incur additional costs and recover among my loved ones. Doctors and ZUS assess me as a patient with good prospects!
I am currently asking for help in raising funds for the current costs related to medical consultations, tests (unfortunately, not everything is covered by the National Health Fund), medicines, supplements, further rehabilitation and the costs of travel to check-ups in Krakow.
Thank you with all my heart!
