Magdalena Rudnik

I would like to go back to work and live normally, not worrying about each next day and the next stage of treatment, about whether I will be able to cover the costs. I dream about holidays with my daughter.

My history

Collection for:

rehabilitation, commuting, breast prosthesis

Dream:

My name is Magdalena, I am 29 years old and I have a 6-year-old daughter who is waiting and believing that I will win the fight against cancer.

I have been suffering from Spinal Ankylosis (AS) since I was 8 years old. In September 2021, I was admitted to a hospital in Warsaw of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration to check the activity of AS disease and examine the organs before administering the first dose of a biological drug. Among other things, a breast ultrasound was needed. That's when it all started - the first ultrasound tests, a CT scan, but we weren't sure yet that it was cancer.

I was not given a biological drug, and instead I was sent home with a referral for a CT scan - mammography, biopsy. They consoled me that I was young and it was impossible...

On December 6, 2021, in Mikołajki, I went to oncology with a DiLO card. They performed all tests on the same day. The worst part was waiting for the biopsy results.

On December 30, 2021, I received a call from the oncology department that the results were ready, but they did not want to provide any information over the phone, so they scheduled an appointment for the next day, i.e. December 31, 2021 - New Year's Eve. On that day, I found out that I had two malignant tumors in my left breast, three tumors with the HER2+ mutation.

From February this year, I was qualified to receive white and red chemotherapy, administered by intravenous infusions. Due to malignant tumors with a HER2+ mutation, the oncologist qualified me for targeted chemotherapy administered by injection.

I have already completed six months of chemotherapy. I was operated on on July 22, 2022. It was a radical mastectomy with removal of the sentinel lymph node.

Unfortunately, histopathological examinations revealed changes in the resected breast and metastases in other lymph nodes under the armpit. Another oncology committee and three weeks after the mastectomy, another surgery on August 24, 2022. This time lymphadenectomy - all my lymph nodes were removed, there were 15 of them in total.

Currently, the wound after the surgery is still healing and I am waiting for radiotherapy. I decided to create a collection because I cannot afford rehabilitation, I will incur additional costs during radiotherapy - accommodation, food, travel. I also need funds for medications and supplements. I would also like to buy bras for Amazons, and in the future, make a breast prosthesis. In my case, it is impossible to cover all these costs.

I would like to go back to work and live normally, not worrying about each next day and the next stage of treatment, about whether I will be able to cover the costs. I dream about holidays with my daughter. I believe that thanks to your help, I will recover and one day I will make this dream come true.
