My name is Kasia, I am 34 years old, I am a single parent of my beloved 9-year-old son - Mateusz. My disease is destroying our lives... My biggest dream is to be with my son for as long as possible, watch him grow up and be confident about his future. I don't want to leave him so soon. I want to live for him - this is my greatest motivation in this fight.
My story with the disease began in 2015. After preliminary tests, I heard from the doctor that there was a suspicion of a pituitary tumor. My first instinct was to approach it stress-free, I thought that normality and recovery were just a procedure away. The reality turned out to be different and my world fell apart. MRI examinations with contrast and Fusion Pet clearly indicated: malignant brain tumor - grade II glioma, located on the organ of speech and movement of the right arm and leg. After consultations with neurosurgeons, I was told that surgery could not be performed in this case. All I had to do was do check-ups and wait for further developments.
In May 2020, I had a sudden seizure with massive brain swelling. I underwent life-saving surgery at the Neurosurgery Department. Unfortunately, the tumor could not be completely removed. The situation was devastating, and yet further complications came my way. Histopathological examination revealed the presence of another malignant and inoperable brain tumor - type III astrocytoma. I underwent radiotherapy and chemotherapy, which turned out to be ineffective. In the current situation, all I have left is to extend the time...
This is a last-chance therapy, at the moment I have no other treatment options. To slow down the progression of the disease and prolong my life, I was recommended immunotherapy twice a month. It's difficult to ask... Unfortunately, the treatment involves huge costs, and I do not have the amount to cover all the costs. I will be very grateful for any support, even the smallest. I wholeheartedly thank everyone for their help.
