Franek began intensive treatment, which included 15 cycles of chemotherapy, 30 cycles of radiotherapy (to the leg and lungs), alendronic acid therapy, stem cell collection, and surgery to remove the fibula and the deep peroneal nerve.

Frank's bones became very brittle., and due to leg paralysis following nerve removal, Franek will have to wear a brace for the rest of his life. Coming to terms with the ban on sports was particularly difficult for him – he was a student in a sports class and dreamed of playing football and a future in the military.

Franek is currently under the constant care of doctors and specialists in Warsaw and Gdańsk. He regularly undergoes tests and daily private rehabilitation. His latest results indicated a recurrence of the cancer, but fortunately, a second biopsy confirmed it was a benign tumor.

The disease robbed Franek of the opportunity to pursue his athletic dreams, but thanks to painstaking rehabilitation, he has a chance to function better in everyday life. Unfortunately, the damaged peroneal nerve cannot be repaired or operated on. the only way is constant, intensive rehabilitation.

Thank you so much for every donation and support. ❤️

Dream:

Franek has always been a very active and athletic boy - he loves swimming, running and playing football. Unfortunately, the sudden diagnosis took away his beloved passions.

Disturbing symptoms appeared on Easter this year, because Frank's leg swelled in an unusual way - as much as 6 cm in circumference. We went for an x-ray. Already then, the diagnosis was suspected: a tumor of the fibula. First, an urgent MRI, then they sent us to Gdańsk, where a biopsy was performed, which confirmed the suspicions - Grade IV fibular bone tumor with metastases to the lungs and lymph nodes. Just a few days after receiving the result, Frank was administered the first dose of chemotherapy, and so far he has already taken four of them.

After the last dose, complications appeared - problems with hearing, vision and balance disorders. Despite this, Franek is coping with the current treatment very bravely, but it is difficult for him to stay in bed because he is an active boy and would like to return to his peers and everyday, normal life.

We travel between hospitals in Gdańsk, Bydgoszcz and Warsaw, which involves high costs. Frank still has a long way to go - after a cycle of chemotherapy, surgery is planned. Every day we learn something new about the treatment process. We do not know yet whether it will be necessary to implement non-reimbursed treatment - if so, it will cost several thousand dollars a month. Costly and long-term rehabilitation after treatment will certainly be necessary.

Franek dreams of returning to swimming, being with his peers and spending time actively again.

We will be grateful for all your support!
