W lipcu 2025 roku zakończyłem chemioterapię i radioterapię, które rozpocząłem w październiku 2024. Wyniki badań obrazowych były bardzo dobre – komórki nowotworowe nieaktywne. Był to niezwykle szczęśliwy czas dla całej naszej rodziny. Razem z żoną zaczęliśmy żyć bez ciągłego lęku i snuć plany na przyszłość.
Niestety, już w połowie października pojawił się ból barku. Początkowo wydawał się niegroźny – myślałem, że to efekt długich spacerów lub poruszania się o kulach. Z czasem ból jednak narastał. Lekarze wykluczyli m.in. zapalenie stawów, jednak dolegliwości nie ustępowały.
W listopadzie pojechaliśmy na wizytę kontrolną do Warszawy. Byłem już w bardzo złym stanie – poruszałem się na wózku inwalidzkim, ponieważ nie byłem w stanie chodzić o kulach, a lewa ręka niemal całkowicie przestała funkcjonować. Po wizycie zlecono badanie PET. Jego wynik był druzgocący – wykazał przerzuty do barku, łopatki, kręgosłupa, żeber oraz szpiku kostnego.
W Narodowym Instytucie Onkologii w Warszawie usłyszałem, że wyczerpano dostępne możliwości leczenia i zaproponowano mi jedynie opiekę paliatywną bliżej miejsca zamieszkania. Nie do końca rozumiałem, co mówi lekarz – czułem się, jakbym w jednej chwili stracił grunt pod nogami. W głowie pojawiło się tylko jedno pytanie: czy to już koniec?
Nie chcę się z tym pogodzić. Razem z żoną szukamy pomocy za granicą. Konieczne są kosztowne badania molekularne, które pozwolą dobrać leczenie celowane, dopasowane do mojego nowotworu. Wiemy, że koszty są ogromne, jednak wierzę, że znajdą się ludzie o wielkich sercach, którzy zdecydują się mnie wesprzeć – za co z całego serca dziękuję.

Hello, my name is Dawid, this year I will be 31. Last year was a real torture for me and turned my life around 180 degrees. It started with pain radiating to my right leg. I went from doctor to doctor, often bouncing off the wall. Inaccurate diagnoses - sciatica, spinal hernia - did not help. Physiotherapy and other methods also failed. Finally, I had an MRI, which no one wanted to refer me for earlier, because "you don't get sick at that age".
When I got the description of the test, I froze. They found a pathological mass covering my entire hip plate. Further tests and a biopsy in September confirmed the diagnosis – a rare bone cancer, Ewing's sarcoma. The disease started in the hip plate and attacked the surrounding bones.
The treatment will be long and expensive. If the therapy in the country does not bring results, it will be necessary to treat abroad. At the moment I am undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Surgery is not possible at the moment. Unfortunately, the costs associated with treatment are enormous – travel, diet, supplementation and orthopedic equipment, which turned out to be necessary when the vertebrae weakened by the disease began to crack.
I am being treated in Warsaw, which is 250 km away, and I have private visits to the orthopedist in Szczecin (330 km). This is just a drop in the ocean of expenses. That is why I am asking for help in further treatment. The disease does not slow down, so I cannot either. I dream of living normally again, if only it were possible.
