My history
Dream:
Beata Kurek, 47 years old – wife and mother of Tomek (11 years old) and Wiktoria (21 years old).
In October 2024, I was diagnosed with malignant breast cancer. It was incredibly difficult news for our entire family.
In November I started chemotherapy. After the first cycle my immunity decreased and I developed a bacterial infection. Treatment with antibiotics caused further cycles of chemotherapy to be postponed. Hypersensitivity to the treatment makes it very difficult for me to tolerate it and I feel extremely bad.
The diseases I suffered from before have become much more severe and make it difficult for me to function on a daily basis. In addition, new problems have appeared, caused by chemotherapy – such as neuropathy, anemia and leukopenia.
Due to complications following systemic treatment, I was qualified for immunomodulating therapy. Its aim is to increase the efficiency of the immune system in fighting cancer and reduce the side effects of chemotherapy.
I have started supportive therapy, which helps me minimize the side effects of treatment and maintain good test results, thanks to which I can continue therapy. I still have surgery and radiation ahead of me.
Until now, we have covered the costs of supportive treatment ourselves, but now we are no longer able to bear it. The costs of treatment, hyperthermia treatments, medications, supplements and travel are very high, which is why I am asking for financial support.
