Hi, my name is Basia and I am 22 years old and my struggle with... glioblastoma it has been going on since 2015. I had the first two surgeries a month apart, shortly before my 13th birthday, each of them lasting 9-10 hours. Back then, doctors didn't give me more than 5% chances of survival. Then intensive rehabilitation and surgical vision correction. 6 years passed and I slowly managed to recover, although not fully. I finished junior high school, high school and passed the high school leaving exam.

I had false hope that the nightmare was over, but unfortunately the pandemic came, the tumor woke up and hit with a vengeance. Within less than two months of this news, I stopped walking. I was sent for another procedure.

Despite the successful surgery, the tumor recurred after three months and required another surgery. The fourth surgery was successful from a surgical point of view, but not for me. I have problems with speech, swallowing, vision and movement. But that's not the end - after another three months, the tumor started to grow again, so I received a huge dose of radiation, which temporarily stopped its growth.

In May 2023, I received an order for very strong, life-saving chemicals. Unfortunately, the cost of treatment was very high and I received some of the drugs from other patients. There was only enough for 5 weeks, and then there was a break due to lack of available medicines and money to buy new ones. To continue treatment, I need funds to pay for the non-reimbursed medicine.

From June 2023, we have implemented treatment to strengthen the body, taking care of diet, psyche and immunity through various types of treatments and supplementation. I try to do everything to keep my health stable and enable me to function normally on a daily basis.

Many people ask what motivates me to fight, well, I promised the people I know and love that I will not give up because I want to spend the next years with them. I have already undergone 4 surgeries to remove the tumor, I believe that thanks to your help I will be able to continue treatment and keep my word.
