Andrzej Bukalski

In May 2024, I learned that I have bladder cancer, which requires intensive treatment. To stop the development of metastases and improve the quality of life, I need non-refundable anti-cancer therapy, the costs of which have already exceeded PLN 30,000. I am asking for help to continue treatment and give myself a chance for a better tomorrow.

My history

Collection for:

non-reimbursed anti-cancer treatment

Dream:

In May 2024, my life changed in an instant. The diagnosis came completely unexpectedly, after a series of regular tests. It started with abnormal results - blood in the urine, which initially did not cause concern. However, cystoscopy revealed a tumor on the bladder, and the histopathology results after the tumor removal surgery brought a brutal diagnosis: low-grade urothelial carcinoma of the urinary bladder.

After this diagnosis, intensive treatment began. In July and August 2024, I underwent radiochemotherapy. Due to the fact that I only have one kidney, a milder chemotherapy (gemcitabine monotherapy) was used to avoid damaging the healthy organ. Unfortunately, irradiation caused radiation sickness, which makes my everyday life very difficult.

In addition, a recent colonoscopy revealed that my intestines were narrowed. For this reason, there is a risk of their obstruction. Despite this, I try to maintain hope for improvement. In order to stop the development of metastases and improve the quality of life after devastating radiochemotherapy, it is necessary to undergo anti-cancer treatment, which is not reimbursed in Poland. Until now, the treatment it has already cost over 30,000 PLN, and the further treatment plan is associated with further very high costs.
The aim of this treatment is increasing my very low immunity, stopping the multiplication of cancer cells and monitoring them.

Unfortunately, the National Health Fund does not finance such therapies, offering help only when metastases have already appeared. Additionally, the fact that I only have one kidney may prevent me from using heavy chemotherapy. I do not want to wait until the situation worsens. I do not want to allow further metastases, which is why I am turning to you with a huge request for help. Your support is invaluable to me. Every złoty brings me closer to the chance for further treatment and a better future.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for every helping hand. Your support gives me hope!
