DREAM: 

My name is Adam, I am 59 years old. In January 2022, I received the diagnosis malignant stomach cancer. I underwent gastrectomy with lymphadenectomy. I also had a narrowing of the esophageal-intestinal anastomosis. Carrying out these treatments requires me to take special meals and nutritional supplements, which generate high costs.

When I thought I was on the right track to recovery, it turned out that my body was attacked by another enemy - malignant prostate cancer with numerous bone metastases. Metastases disqualify me from surgery to remove the tumor. I received this second diagnosis only a month after receiving the first one, which had a very negative impact on my mental well-being.

I underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Unfortunately, chemotherapy damaged my heart. After several hours of resuscitation, I was implanted with a cardioverter-defibrillator. I am currently taking hormone therapy, despite which the disease is progressing.

I have to go for frequent oncological and cardiological tests, which involves high costs. I cannot afford private visits because I only live on a pension. A specialized diet and medicines are other expenses that burden my modest budget every month.

My dream is to live and enjoy life to the best of my ability. I would like to wake up every day to watch my grandson grow up and return to my hobby of fishing.
