Dream:
Good morning,
I am a single mother raising two wonderful daughters. In 2022, my daughters and I came to Poland, escaping the war in our country. This country welcomed us very warmly and friendly, for which we are extremely grateful. The girls went to school, I went to work. Everything was as usual and we were incredibly happy to be safe.
In March 2024, Weronika began to feel bad. My daughter was suffering a lot, and I didn't know how to help her. Unable to bear the child's suffering any longer, I took her to the ER, where we learned the cause of her constant, severe headache and vomiting. The diagnosis of the disease fell on me like a bolt from the blue - .. The ambulance immediately transported me and my daughter to the IPCZD to the neurosurgery department. Veronika began to be delirious, vomit, and stopped recognizing me. She had not eaten for 2 weeks and had not drunk water for 2 days, so the head of neurosurgery said that Veronika had to undergo immediate surgery. "We have to save the girl because she won't survive another night" – these words still ring in my head, even though a year has passed.
Veronika, like a true and brave warrior, fought for her life. The doctors did a great job and my little girl started smiling again after the surgery, without any defects or complications. After the histopathology test, we found out that Veronika has a very rare disease - choroid plexus tumor of the brain with Li-Fraumeni syndrome. 6 cycles of AIC chemotherapy, then megadose chemotherapy with autologous bone marrow transplant. Veronika bravely endured everything and even supported me so that I would not cry during this time.
On October 30, Veronika underwent a bone marrow transplant. On November 22, 2024, we returned home. It seemed like a victory, but unfortunately for us, the remission did not last long. On March 13, 2025, Veronika's next MRI scan showed relapse of the disease. Reoperation 22.04.2025. Medical consultations, radiotherapy proposed. Veronika bravely undergoes treatment because she wants to return to normal life. She dreams of a two-story house outside the city and an electric guitar.
