My name is Kamila, and the disease that surprised me changed my life in a way I never expected. A year earlier, during routine tests, my results were completely normal. Unfortunately, In January 2024, I was diagnosed with malignant breast cancer with metastases to the axillary lymph nodes.. This diagnosis came as a huge shock to me, as it probably does to anyone who has ever heard similar news. Since then, my life has changed completely.

In March 2024, I began treatment with chemotherapy. During the infusions, ultrasounds were performed regularly to check if the tumors were responding to the treatment - at first it seemed that they were. I face both physical and mental challenges every day, but I still have hope.

In September 2024, I underwent my first surgery – my left breast and four axillary nodes were removed. Unfortunately, the results showed that the removed nodes had metastases and the cancer did not respond to chemotherapy. Two months later, I underwent another surgery, during which 12 axillary lymph nodes were removed. It turned out that another four nodes had metastases and invasion outside the capsule of the nodes, which means metastases to the axillary muscles.

In December I will start radiotherapy and hormone therapy. Unfortunately, due to the lack of response to chemotherapy, I cannot use complementary chemo. Doctors suggested a two-year treatment with Abemaciclib, which is unfortunately not reimbursed. The cost of this treatment is from PLN 6,500 to PLN 13,000 every five weeks.

Every day is a fight for my health and future. My family and friends are a huge support for me, but the treatment is very expensive. I need funds for the aforementioned treatment, rehabilitation and medical consultations, which are often not reimbursed.

That is why I am asking for help. Every, even the smallest payment, is a huge support for me in this difficult fight. I thank you with all my heart for every form of help and every kind word. I believe that thanks to your support I will be able to overcome the disease and return to a normal life - a life that I want to fight for so much, because I have someone to live for.
