A lot has changed since the fundraiser was set up. Last year, after having a tumor removed, I underwent radiotherapy and chemotherapy. After this treatment, I started living as I had before my diagnosis, I went back to work, and it seemed to me that the worst was behind me. At the end of March this year, I had an epileptic seizure, which heralded the problems to come.
Studies have shown the presence of another tumor, which was removed at the beginning of May. I decided to undergo surgical treatment in Bydgoszcz. Unfortunately, during the control MRI it turned out that there was another - third lump, which due to its specificity cannot be removed, is located on the motor cortex and takes away the strength in my right arm and leg.
Now I'm waiting for another treatment in Bydgoszcz - radiotherapy in very high doses and chemotherapy (PCV). But it doesn't end there. Right after the end of the basic treatment I would like to undergo rehabilitation to get back to full fitness.

It all started with severe headaches that didn't go away despite taking medication. On June 24, I ended up in hospital in Wrocław with dizziness and vision problems. A CT scan showed a brain tumor, which was confirmed the next day by MRI. On July 10, I underwent emergency surgery to remove the tumor from my right frontal lobe. The tumor was five centimeters and was removed in its entirety, but the surgery was a big challenge, carrying the risk of serious neurological disorders.
Final diagnosis – Malignant glioma grade IV – was a huge blow to me. Now I am waiting for radiotherapy and chemotherapy in Bydgoszcz, but standard and reimbursed treatment in Poland ends there. Glioma is a very aggressive brain tumor, which most often returns, and its recurrence can occur quickly and in an inoperable place.
I don't want to wait for the worst - I want to live! After many medical consultations, I decided to continue the treatment, which gives me hope for a better future. The first step is TTFields Optune therapy - a device that produces electromagnetic fields that disrupt tumor growth and cause cancer cell death. This is a standard treatment method in Germany, Switzerland and the USA, but its cost is about 130,000 PLN per month, and the device must be worn for at least 6 months.
The next step will be immunotherapy in Germany. The costs of treatment are enormous and I have little time. I want to fight for my life, not only for myself, but above all for my family. My children – 4-year-old Bartek and 9-year-old Ala – need a father. I don't want to be another person in the terrifying statistics. I know that there are cases of long-term survival of people with such a diagnosis and I want to be an example of that.
