About the diagnosis – breast cancer – I found out in June last year. Earlier, I felt a lump on my breast and was referred for diagnostics in May. In June, I also took the first of four doses of red chemotherapy, and then twelve doses of white chemotherapy. Then, on December 4, I had a mastectomy on my left breast and had all the nodes removed. The results after surgery were OK, but due to the high degree of malignancy in the initial stage, I was sent to 25 cycles of radiotherapy and hormonal therapy.

The plan also includes therapy with a drug that is not reimbursed, but I must first be put into artificial menopause. I am currently undergoing radiotherapy. I also receive an injection of Zoladex once a month and hormonal treatment.

I incur high financial costs related to the disease - primarily constant commuting to the hospital (70 km one way) and private visits to specialists. In addition, I would like to introduce a diet, because after chemotherapy I gained a lot of weight and now with hormone therapy I cannot cope with it. As a result of chemotherapy, my pain increased, especially in the upper spine, where many changes were detected on MRI. I also have a problem with my hand after surgery and it makes it difficult for me to function on a daily basis. I was accepted for rehabilitation under the National Health Fund, but only at the end of November, so I would like to sign up privately so as not to spend so much time in pain.

When it comes to dreams, the most important thing is to return to normal life, to work and improve your health enough to improve the quality of life and everyday functioning. What motivates me most to recover is that I have children who have already lost their father to cancer and I know how much they fear for my life, and it is for them that I want to fight.
