I believe that nothing happens without a reason. All my life I was focused on others, now the disease forced me to look at myself a little.

Dream:

We met a few months ago in the oncology ward, we are "chemistry friends". One of us, Renata, needs help, but she can't imagine asking for it. We decided to do it for her. Renata is a very positive girl with a great sense of humor. Currently, she finds herself in a situation where she really needs our support.

Renia learned about her disease only when malignant, serous ovarian cancer (G3) spread to the peritoneum and other organs. She was diagnosed on her 48th birthday in 2020. Her world was turned upside down. Renia then underwent a complicated surgery. All affected areas that could be removed were removed: the uterus with its appendages, a piece of the bladder, the pelvic peritoneum, the appendix, the iliac lymph nodes, the right and left sacral aortic nodes. Not all tumors could be removed due to their location. Then, exhaustive chemotherapy and immunotherapy were administered. Despite the initial uncertain prognosis, she managed to overcome the disease. A miracle happened, she was able to celebrate her success and enjoy life with her beloved loved ones for over a year.

Unfortunately, this spring the cancer returned... recurrence in the obturator lymph node... Another surgery, another chemotherapy, tests, consultations. To make matters worse, Renia lost her source of income because, due to her health, she can no longer do the physical work she used to do.

Despite the recurrence, Renia has a chance for full recovery. The cancer responds well to the treatment. However, chemotherapy places a heavy burden on the body, so the blood results are often so bad that another course of treatment cannot be administered.

It can be very frustrating, but Renata doesn't give up. She uses various treatment support methods that help strengthen her body and mental condition, worn out by therapy. Unfortunately, these treatments are not reimbursed. She is also currently taking supplements that improve her blood results enough for further chemotherapy cycles to be administered. In addition, there is the need to travel to the hospital several times a month. All this involves huge costs that are beyond its capabilities.

Renia says: “I am the mother of two wonderful children, Krystian, who is 31, and Kasia, who is 21. I also have two wonderful grandchildren, Oliwka, 5, and Wiktor, 3.5. I have a wonderful husband, Gerard, who supports me. I want and must live for them and for myself, it is worth everything. I want to see my daughter get married, I want to see my grandchildren grow up. I believe that nothing happens without a reason. All my life I was focused on others, now the disease forced me to look at myself at least a little bit.

Without our help, Renia will have a very difficult time, she will not be able to afford treatment, because the costs of consultations, tests, treatments and medicines are huge. We will be grateful for even the smallest support.
