Tuesday, April 23, 2024 – that day our lives turned upside down. The MRI result was devastating: a tumor in the temporal lobe measuring 20x18x17 mm. We have been together for two years, and that day our plans and dreams were shattered. On the way from the neurologist, Wiktor, in a calm voice, informed his employer over the phone:I have a brain tumor, I won't be at work tomorrow"From that moment on, everything happened very quickly. On Saturday, Wiktor underwent surgery in Warsaw. The good news: the tumor was completely removed. The bad news: the tumor took away what he loved most – the ability to read. We were anxiously awaiting the test results, and the next blow did not take long to arrive: Malignant glioma, grade IV. I was devastated, it was Wiktor who comforted me, saying: "It'll be okay."

Wiktor was admitted to the Radom Oncology Center, where he spent 7 weeks on radio-chemotherapy with temozolomide. He is currently undergoing five-day chemotherapy cycles. When this stage of treatment is over, we will have to wait for the disease to recur. We do not accept this. We want to grow old together, make plans and fulfill our dreams. That is why we are looking for alternative methods of treatment. Unfortunately, none of them are reimbursed in Poland, which means huge costs. OPTUNE oncology therapy, genetic tests and non-reimbursed drugs are expenses that we cannot cover ourselves, even with the help of family and friends. That is why we ask you with all our hearts – help us.

Wiktor is a man full of energy and optimism. Always smiling, ready to help, adored by students who keep asking when Mr. Wiktor will come back.
