My name is Karolina. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018. – then I underwent a simultaneous mastectomy with implant placement. In 2021 the disease returned, involving the liver, bones, lymph nodes, and pleura. I started targeted therapy: Abemaciclib (CDK4/6) and Faslodex. Thanks to this, I was in remission for over two years.

Unfortunately, in March 2024, the disease reappeared. New tumors appeared on the liver, pleura, skin, and lymph nodes (supraclavicular, cervical, inguinal). Virtually all bones, even the skull, were occupied by metastases. The year 2024 was extremely difficult for me – I almost died. In August, I had severe pneumonia, which caused fluid to accumulate in the pleura. Shortly afterwards, I contracted COVID-19, which I also had a very hard time with. My body was exhausted, my liver was poisoned by drugs, and my weight dropped to only 42 kg.

In September, my oncologist changed the treatment to the so-called "red chemo". Thanks to her, I was able to get out of a critical condition and back on my feet - I am currently still taking this type of treatment. At the end of January, the plan is to change the therapy to the next line of treatment, which will be determined after a series of imaging tests.

My biggest dream is to stabilize – I want the cancer to “fall asleep” and give me some more time here on Earth, because I love life!

To make this possible, I need to constantly strengthen my body – I need rehabilitation, massages to help fight neuropathy, exercises, supplements, medications, as well as funds for travel to medical facilities, private tests (to speed up diagnostics compared to the National Health Fund), visits to specialists (ophthalmologist, neurologist, etc.), strengthening drips and psychotherapy.
