UPDATES:
Updated on November 7, 2022
The last year was not easy for Mr. Janusz and his family. In April, he suffered two heart attacks and was in three hospitals where he had artery re-clogging procedures. The heart is under a lot of stress, but unfortunately he is not eligible for bypass surgery due to cancer.
Updated on September 17, 2021
Mr. Janusz is still under the care of home hospice. Unfortunately, we don't have good news - the last CT scan showed the progression of changes. Mr. Janusz is under constant medical care. He suffers from a troublesome cough, and due to the severe pain he regularly takes morphine. His loved ones are doing everything they can to support him. Unfortunately, he increasingly withdraws into himself, believing that he can only deal with the disease on his own. He does not lose his determination and takes up the challenge again every day, but both he and his family realize that his strength is gradually decreasing. Please support the collection so that at least your financial situation will not be a concern.
Update of November 25, 2020
Mr. Janusz completed the entire course of radiotherapy. Unfortunately, the research results are not good. Your well-being is getting worse - shortness of breath is getting worse, additional difficulties include lack of strength, problems with sleep and appetite. Mr. Janusz was referred to home hospice, he is under the care of an oncologist and a nurse. It is difficult for both him and his relatives to come to terms with his current health condition.
DREAM:
My father is 55 years old and comes from Bielawa.
He loves SCI FI books, crosswords, playing football with his grandchildren, ordinary everyday joys.
He spent his entire life on rooftops! He worked as a roofer, loved his job and put a lot of passion into it. He liked watching something beautiful being created that would last for years. He loved and loves her so much that as soon as he left the hospital for the first time, he immediately ran to her :) Unfortunately, as is typical in construction - he worked informally, so now he is left without any pension, benefits or support.
Two years ago (2018) he started feeling worse, coughing and spitting blood. We went for an X-ray, the doctors didn't notice anything disturbing and sent us home with medicines to dilute the fluid in the lungs... Dad returned to work, but he felt increasingly weaker... like many men, he put it down to age and claimed he would "cope".
In March 2020, he began to lose strength, experience shortness of breath and sleep problems. He was referred for deeper tests, at the beginning of June an MRI and this devastating diagnosis - lung cancer. At the beginning, dad had a lot of enthusiasm for fighting and argued that "it's not like that", but subsequent tests confirmed the wrong assumptions - Grade IV malignancy and metastases to other organs. The cancer was inoperable, we were referred for a course of 20 radiation treatments. After the 5th, the vocal cords started to fail, it's getting worse ☹
Dad's eyes are fading. He has lost energy, faith in winning... he does not tolerate treatment very well. My heart hurts when I look at him, I wish I could take away what he's going through...
He has never been to the seaside... after the diagnosis he felt that he would really like to see it again... this thought encourages him, but to make it come true we need your help.
We are asking for your support - so that dad can enjoy the sea, work and his beloved grandchildren for many years to come.
