Cancer entered my life quickly and confidently, bringing fear and chaos that I was not ready for. After the first symptoms appeared in 2020, I underwent tests that confirmed my worst fears: malignant tumor of the left breast. So, I spent the holidays, which should be associated with relaxation and rest, going from doctor to doctor, worrying about what prognosis I might face.

Already during the first consultation, I heard that it was impossible to cure me, only to prolong my life. I couldn't believe that my life had changed so dramatically - I was torn from my carefree family routine and forced to fight for every day.

In September 2020, I managed to qualify for the program in which I received treatment ribociclib– a medicine reimbursed by the National Health Fund. The effects were surprising, the lump gradually began to shrink, which gave me hope for recovery. The following months brought equally optimistic forecasts, which were also associated with the prospect of "dropping out" of the program.

Currently, my situation seems stable, but I am afraid that the disease will come back with a vengeance when I have no insurance. I use paid supplementation, I travel to doctors' offices about 40 km away. I have to cover all these costs from a significantly reduced pension because my illness prevents me from doing my old job.

Cancer took a lot from me: my job, which gave me financial stability, contact with co-workers, health and money. I cannot allow the disease to deprive me of my role as a mother and grandmother. I am asking you to support me in the fight I want to win for my loved ones. I want to beat cancer and forget about the stress, fear and uncertainty that I have been experiencing recently. Most of all, I dream of taking my two daughters and grandson on vacation, enjoying every hour I have gained in my battle with cancer.
