I have good news because it turned out that from July 1, 2023, Keytruda was included on the list of reimbursed drugs, so I had to cover the costs of the first doses. Subsequent administrations of the drug will be reimbursed. From the collected funds, in addition to the previously paid doses of the drug in the amount of PLN 34,000, I will reimburse other costs related to the treatment - consultations with specialists, diet.

DREAM:

In March 2023, I discovered a tumor. The next day I went for a breast ultrasound and they told me that the structure of the tumor indicated cancer. Then there was waiting for the biopsy results, which confirmed that the tumor was malignant and triple-negative. Fear, sleepless nights and questions about how much time is left. Then I found great doctors from NIO in Ursynów who fight for me and if everything goes according to plan, I quote, "the cancer can be completely cured."

So far, I have already undergone 3 red chemotherapy treatments and two immunotherapy treatments, which is crucial because it improves my prognosis. Immunotherapy gives patients with triple-negative breast cancer a chance for complete recovery.

In the next month, I will be administered the last red chemotherapy, chth4xCdd (it was delayed for a week because I had neutropenia - a complication, I spent the last week in the hospital), 12 white chemotherapy, i.e. pacitaxel + carboplatin. Then surgery and radiotherapy. Throughout the entire treatment cycle, I should take immunotherapy, i.e. as many as 16 infusions.

Immunotherapy (KEYTRUDA drug), unfortunately it is not refundable. The cost of one infusion in the clinic is PLN 17,000, every 3 weeks.

My dream is to get back to normal - ride a bike, go for walks in the forest, finally try my hand at kayaking, travel and be able to plan. Especially the latter is currently unfeasible due to the disease, treatment and side effects of chemotherapy.

What motivates me to fight for recovery is the best man in the world - my friend and husband Łukasz and my beloved parents. It will still be fine!
