We want to help in a way that truly meets the needs of people with cancer and their loved ones. That's why we asked our clients about their experiences working with the Foundation \u2013 what works well, what they need, and what we can do even better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
107 people participated in the survey, conducted from April 2 to July 26, 2026. The responses are not only an assessment of our actions to date, but above all, an important source of knowledge about how we should develop our support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who responded to the survey?<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The study included people at various stages of the disease and with varying experiences of cooperation with the Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sixty-one people, or 57.01 TP3T, were undergoing treatment, and 35 people, or 32.71 TP3T, had already completed treatment. Eight close relatives of those with the condition, two people undergoing diagnosis, and one person who did not wish to disclose their situation also responded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The beneficiaries also differed in the length of their cooperation with the Foundation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \ud83d\udd39 23 people \u27a1\ufe0e 21.5% have been using support for less than a year,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \ud83d\udd39 50 people \u27a1\ufe0e 46.7% from 1 to 3 years old,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \ud83d\udd39 34 people \u27a1\ufe0e 31.8% longer than 3 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This means that the survey included both people who were relatively new to the Foundation and those whom we had been supporting for several years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What support do the mentees receive?<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The most recognizable form of assistance remains the 1.5% sub-account \u2013 it was indicated by 79 people, i.e. 73.8% respondents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Other forms of support were used as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2611\ufe0e collection for treatment \u2013 45 people, 42.1%,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2611\ufe0e organizational and information support \u2013 32 people, 29.9%,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2611\ufe0e consultations with a psycho-oncologist \u2013 31 people, 29.0%,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2611\ufe0e consultations with an oncodietician \u2013 25 people, 23.4%,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2611\ufe0e consultations with a specialist in holistic approach to health \u2013 13 people, 12,1%,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2611\ufe0e consultations with a psychiatrist \u2013 12 people, 11,2%,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2611\ufe0e consultations with a pain management doctor \u2013 4 people, 3.7%,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2611\ufe0e consultation with a geneticist \u2013 3 people, 2.8%,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2611\ufe0e consultation with a lawyer \u2013 2 people, 1.9%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This was a multiple-choice question, so one person could indicate multiple forms of assistance. The results show that the Foundation is perceived not only as a source of financial support. Specialist consultations, contact with the team, and organizational support are also important parts of the assistance. This perception was also reflected in the open-ended responses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n How is the availability of specialists assessed?<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 102 out of 107 people, i.e. 95.3%, rated the availability of specialists as good or very good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e 60 people \u2013 very good,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e 42 people \u2013 good,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e 5 people \u2013 average.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There were no negative reviews.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n At the same time, later in the survey, some clients indicated a need for more consultations, particularly psychological ones. This demonstrates that the quality and accessibility of the current offerings are highly rated, but the need for specialized support remains high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Is the Foundation's support really helpful?<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n When asked whether the support received was really helpful:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e 74 people answered "definitely yes",<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e 27 people "rather yes",<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e 4 people "hard to say",<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e 2 people "probably not".<\/p>\n\n\n\n This gives a total of 101 positive responses out of 107, or 94.4%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is one of our most important outcomes. Behind the procedures, collections, reimbursements, and consultations are specific people and specific situations. We want the Foundation's support to be truly felt in the daily experience of illness and treatment.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Contact with the team is one of the strongest areas.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n It was rated very highly \u2013 106 out of 107 people, or 99.1%, rated it good or very good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 106 out of 107 people, or 99.1%, rated it good or very good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e 87 people \u2013 very good,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e 19 people \u2013 good,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e 1 person \u2013 average.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The results for empathy and respect were even stronger. All 107 people responded that they always or often felt treated with empathy and respect:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e 98 people \u2013 always,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e 9 people \u2013 often.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Open responses included words such as kindness, patience, professionalism, commitment, understanding, the feeling of being heard and the possibility of obtaining specific help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How do the Mentees evaluate the course of cooperation?<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n All people who answered this question assessed the cooperation positively:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e 85 people \u2013 very good,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e 22 people \u2013 good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There was not a single average or negative response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This shows that one of the Foundation's greatest resources is not only the offer of assistance itself, but also the way it guides the client throughout the entire process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Would the beneficiaries recommend the Foundation to others?<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 105 people answered this question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e 90 people \u2013 definitely yes,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e 12 people \u2013 probably yes,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e 3 people \u2013 I don't know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This means that 102 out of 105 respondents, i.e. 97.1%, would recommend the Foundation to other people suffering from oncological diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There was no negative response.<\/strong> We treat this high level of willingness to recommend as an expression of trust, but also a commitment to continue to maintain the quality of support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What do our mentees value most?<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Four areas emerged particularly frequently in open-ended responses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2714\ufe0e Empathy and human contact<\/p>\n\n\n\n The clients appreciate the kindness, patience, understanding and the feeling of being heard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2714\ufe0e Speed and availability of the team<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is important to be able to write or call and get a specific answer and help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2714\ufe0e Real help with treatment costs<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sub-accounts, collections, reimbursements and the possibility of financing treatment-related expenses remain one of the basic elements of support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2714\ufe0e Access to specialists<\/p>\n\n\n\n Psycho-oncological, dietary, psychiatric consultations and other forms of specialist support are seen as real value, not just an addition to financial assistance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n What do the mentees miss the most?<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 75 people responded to the question about missing forms of support. This was a multiple-choice question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The most frequently mentioned were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e educational workshops and meetings \u2013 31 responses,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e more psychological consultations \u2013 24,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e social and legal assistance \u2013 17,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e online support \u2013 16,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e support groups \u2013 13,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e support for loved ones and families \u2013 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There were also individual needs, including oncology consultations, physiotherapy, oncology dietetics, genetics, financial support for medications, and assistance in finding tests and other treatment options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Important conclusion: It's not always about a lack of service<\/strong>. Some of the needs reported by respondents related to areas already offered by the Foundation \u2013 such as psychological consultations, legal support, support for loved ones, and online services. This information is very important to us. It shows that the challenge lies not only in creating new forms of assistance. We also need to better inform people about what is already available, who is eligible, and how to access it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The survey results therefore point in two directions at the same time: developing our offerings where there are real gaps, and simplifying communication about the support we already offer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n What other needs emerged in the responses?<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n More individual suggestions and comments also appeared in open-ended questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They concerned, among others:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e online workshops and meetings,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e physical activities and rehabilitation,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e support for people after treatment,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e returning to professional life after illness,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e better information about refunds and funds on sub-accounts,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e simpler rules and a more predictable contact path,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e family support,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e education on nutrition and supplementation,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e patient rights and benefits,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e access to clinical trials and new therapies,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u25aa\ufe0e more specialist consultations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n These are very different needs and not all of them appeared frequently, but they show how wide-ranging the challenges faced by people living with cancer are \u2013 also beyond the treatment itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What are the results of the survey for the Foundation?<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The overall picture is very consistent. The Foundation's clients highly value the way they are treated. It's important not only that they can receive financial support, consultations, or assistance with treatment arrangements, but also that they have contact with someone who responds, explains, listens, and helps them navigate this difficult process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What will we do with the results?<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n A survey is worthless to us if it ends with just publishing percentages. We use the responses of our beneficiaries to plan further activities of the Social Department and the Foundation's communications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In our next steps, we want to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2714\ufe0e provide even clearer information about available forms of support,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2714\ufe0e develop educational and workshop activities,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2714\ufe0e analyze the possibilities of increasing access to specialist consultations,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2714\ufe0e develop online support,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2714\ufe0e take into account more closely the needs of people after treatment and their loved ones,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2714\ufe0e simplify communication regarding reimbursements, funds and other processes,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2714\ufe0e regularly ask clients about their experiences and needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We won't be able to meet all needs immediately.
