Behind us are incredibly inspiring days spent in Boston, where Harvard Medical School hosted\u00a022nd International Conference of the Society for Integrative Oncology (SIO)<\/strong>. It was an intense time filled with workshops, presentations of research results and scientific publications, as well as conversations, meetings, and exchanges of experiences with representatives of the medical community from around the world.
This year's event, held under the slogan\u00a0\u201eThe Future of Integrative Oncology: Connecting Cultures, Opening to Innovation, and Building Unity\u201d<\/strong>, gathered nearly 500 participants \u2013 clinicians, researchers, patients and advocates representing different continents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All participants shared a common goal: to jointly advance the science and practice of integrative oncology\u2014evidence-based, holistic care for cancer patients. The presented research clearly demonstrates that this integrative approach is the direction of the future.
Regardless of the region of the world, combining the best practices of academic medicine with safe, proven supportive methods significantly improves the quality of life of cancer patients \u2013 not only physically, but also mentally, emotionally, and socially.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many major hospitals around the world already have integrative oncology departments, and academic institutions offer programs educating physicians and therapists in this field. The growing interest in this approach demonstrates that more and more medical communities recognize the value of combining science, empathy, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The key to further development is the exchange of knowledge and experience\u2014only through open dialogue can we effectively support patients in their treatment and recovery processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We, as the Rakiety Oncological Foundation, are proud to be part of the Society for Integrative Oncology and contribute to this international community of experts, practitioners, and organizations working to provide holistic cancer care. Participating in the Boston conference was not only a source of knowledge for us but also a tremendous inspiration for further work in Poland \u2013 promoting education, awareness, and the development of integrative oncology in our country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
