My name is Gosia and I'm 58 years old. I'm a loving wife, a caring mother of two sons, and soon-to-be grandmother of my first, long-awaited grandchild. Until recently, I led a quiet, simple life\u2014full of small joys, plans, work, and hope for the future. Today, each day is a persistent journey\u2014for health, for time, for life, so I can be there for my loved ones.<\/p>\n
I learned about my health problems after an innocent fall on Christmas Day. First, the pain, then a series of countless tests that revealed the cruel truth \u2013 a tumor in my pelvic area, over 10 cm in size, suspected of being a sarcoma. I couldn't believe it. A few weeks later, I was at the National Oncology Institute in Warsaw and received my first diagnosis: osteosarcoma, which could only be cured by a radical amputation of my left leg and part of my pelvis, preceded by very strong and devastating chemotherapy.<\/p>\n
However, after another biopsy, the diagnosis changed: Sarcomatoid carcinoma of the pelvic bones \u2013 an extremely rare and even more aggressive cancer<\/strong>, which completely changed my world in a short time. My daily routine became hospitals, rounds of radiation therapy, countless paid tests, and uncertainty about what the future would bring. Unfortunately, the treatment plan changed \u2013 from a radical approach, it became palliative, focused on monitoring the tumor. I fear that in this scenario, the appearance of metastases is only a matter of time.<\/p>\n In a short time, another blow came \u2013 after numerous searches for specialists, I found out that In Poland, we have exhausted all available treatment options.<\/strong>Currently, my only hope is a dual-therapy program at specialized oncology centers in Israel and Austria, where doctors are experienced in treating this type of cancer. This offers me great hope\u2014but also poses a huge and unrealistic financial challenge.<\/p>\n I've always been independent, cheerful, and the one who supported others. Today, I'm asking for help with all my heart. Every z\u0142oty, every kind word, every positive thought is not only a real chance for treatment for me, but also the strength to not give up. I truly believe that the symbol of the fight against sarcoma and solidarity with those affected by this disease\u2014sunflowers\u2014will bring me happiness, and I'll be able to enjoy their beauty for many years to come. My appeal for help begins in July, which symbolically marks Sarcoma Awareness Month.<\/p>\n I want to live so much!<\/strong> I want to be able to walk my beloved son down the aisle next year. I want to hold my long-awaited grandson's hand, sing him a lullaby, and tell him how much I love him. I want to be there for my family now, when they need me so much.<\/p>\n I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here and I am asking for your help.
