My name is Zenek and I am 68 years old. For some \u2013 already 68, but for me \u2013 only 68.<\/p>\n
It all started half a year ago with persistent hoarseness that wouldn't go away. Thanks to a quick diagnosis and a professional medical team, I heard the diagnosis: Hodgkin's lymphoma with nodular sclerosis<\/strong>, intermediate form with risk factor.<\/p>\n The PET scan showed multiple lesions at the level of the lymph nodes in the mediastinum, paratracheal areas and in the hilum of both lungs. I thought at that moment: "This is impossible, I feel healthy."<\/p>\n I have been working at an oncology institute for years, helping patients struggling with cancer. Now I myself have become a patient. In August 2024, I had lymph nodes removed from my neck and supraclavicle, and in September I started ABVD chemotherapy.<\/p>\n At the same time I took non-reimbursed supportive treatment<\/strong>, aimed at rebuilding my immune system. Chemotherapy destroys cancer cells, but also healthy cells, weakening the body and bone marrow. To continue fighting the disease, I need to start radiotherapy as soon as possible, but the weakening of the body prevents this for now.<\/p>\n The chance to continue the treatment is further supportive therapy.<\/strong>, which helps strengthen the body. Unfortunately, the costs of treatment, supplementation, intravenous infusions and travel from Silesia to Warsaw amount to more than 15,000 PLN per month<\/strong>. Up until now I had been covering all my expenses myself, but our savings have run out, but our expenses have.<\/p>\n I have always told others: "Money is an acquired thing, it cannot decide about your life." Today I am asking for help to continue fighting.<\/p>\n My dream? To beat my illness and fulfill a promise I made to my deceased parents \u2013 to continue to care for my disabled brother who requires constant assistance.<\/strong><\/p>\n Your support will open the door for me to this path.
