This is the hardest story I have to write because I don't know how it ends. The diagnosis was made during a gynecological checkup in April 2024. Diagnostic tests were then performed.<\/p>\n
During surgery in May, biopsy samples were taken. The results confirmed\u00a0ovarian cancer with metastases to the mediastinal, axillary and clavicular lymph nodes.<\/strong><\/p>\n Following surgery, chemotherapy began (eight infusions). Treatment is currently planned to continue for 18 infusions, the first of which was administered on December 3, 2024. Radiotherapy is planned to begin in January 2025.<\/p>\n HRD did not detect pathogenic BRCA1 or BRCA2 variants. After chest radiotherapy and consultations with an oncological surgeon, a biopsy is planned and the material will be sent to Belgium for targeted chemotherapy \u2013 the costs of this procedure are not yet known.<\/p>\n Life is a gift.<\/strong><\/p>\n Every day and every moment have become precious. Little things bring me joy\u2014growing eyebrows and eyelashes, nature, the laughter of my children, the breeze, and the rays of the sun.<\/p>\n I dream of recovering and being able to go on bike rides with my family again, spend time actively, and enjoy life. I've always had a soft spot for the mountains, and the Tatra Mountains are my favorite.<\/p>\n I was professionally fulfilled, and my personal life brought me great happiness. Despite my numerous responsibilities, I always found time for my greatest passions: sports and travel.\u00a0<\/p>\n I had many plans and dreams. Now I was embarking on an unknown, twisting journey in search of health.<\/strong><\/p>\n My greatest motivation for treatment is my family: my husband and two children. I also have wonderful people around me who support me.<\/p>\n The hardest part was hearing my daughter ask, "Mom, are you going to get better?" I know how much my whole family needs me, especially my daughter. I dream of being there for her as she grows up and deals with the challenges of teenage life, and I can support her and offer her affection.<\/p>\n At the same time, we're struggling with my daughter's illness\u2014a congenital retinal defect in both eyes. My illness has made me realize how much they need me.<\/p>\n My experiences with this disease have left a mark on my well-being. Cancer takes so much from a person, but I refuse to lose hope.
