We learned about Anto\u015b's illness in February 2023, right after the cast was removed from his broken leg. That's when we noticed a worrying lump above his knee, which was initially supposed to be a harmless cyst. We immediately went to the Institute of Mother and Child, where a biopsy was performed. The diagnosis was devastating - osteosarcoma, a malignant tumor of the right femur<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Anto\u015b immediately started chemotherapy according to the treatment protocol for this type of cancer and underwent a complicated surgery to resection the tumor along with part of the femur, which was replaced with a growing endoprosthesis. In November 2023, we completed the first phase of treatment and with hope we thought that the worst was behind us. Unfortunately, After half a year we found out about the metastases to the lung<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We returned to the oncology ward, where Anto\u015b began another round of chemotherapy and underwent a thoracotomy, during which the cancerous lesion was removed. Unfortunately, this was not the end of the fight.<\/p>\n

We will soon have to undergo another leg surgery because, despite intensive rehabilitation, a muscle contracture has developed which prevents Anto\u015b from walking independently. Constant rehabilitation and specialist equipment are needed, the costs of which are huge and not always reimbursed.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Anto\u015b dreams of returning to the playground, going to kindergarten and playing with his peers. Your support can help him return to a normal childhood.
