My name is Olena Yermolenko and I come from Ukraine. When the war started in my country, I took my little daughter and came to Poland. We lived with our child in a shelter. I worked as a driver to support us. Unfortunately, in the fall I got sick, initially it was assumed it was just a cold. After some time, the symptoms returned, so I decided to go to Ukraine to perform further tests. A diagnosis was made that I did not expect at all - lung cancer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am currently in Poland because there is no chance for proper treatment and a safe life in Ukraine. I spent all the money I earned on necessary research. I am undergoing treatment in Lublin and I live in Pozna\u0144. The commute itself is a big financial burden for me, because each trip costs almost PLN 700, and I have to do it twice a week. Additionally, there are the costs of medicines and supplements, not to mention the appropriate diet.<\/p>\n

This is a very difficult period for me, but my daughter is an inspiration for me and motivates me to act. She is a girl who studies hard and I want her to have a safe future. I still regret that life has treated us this way. Now I am waiting for the hospital's decision regarding further treatment, because the lung cancer is progressing.<\/p>\n
