Franek has always been a very active and athletic boy - he loves swimming, running and playing football. Unfortunately, the sudden diagnosis took away his beloved passions.<\/p>\n
Disturbing symptoms appeared on Easter this year, because Frank's leg swelled in an unusual way - as much as 6 cm in circumference. We went for an x-ray. Already then, the diagnosis was suspected: a tumor of the fibula. First, an urgent MRI, then they sent us to Gda\u0144sk, where a biopsy was performed, which confirmed the suspicions - Grade IV fibular bone tumor with metastases to the lungs and lymph nodes<\/strong>. Just a few days after receiving the result, Frank was administered the first dose of chemotherapy, and so far he has already taken four of them.<\/p>\n After the last dose, complications appeared - problems with hearing, vision and balance disorders. Despite this, Franek is coping with the current treatment very bravely, but it is difficult for him to stay in bed because he is an active boy and would like to return to his peers and everyday, normal life.<\/p>\n We travel between hospitals in Gda\u0144sk, Bydgoszcz and Warsaw, which involves high costs. Frank still has a long way to go - after a cycle of chemotherapy, surgery is planned. Every day we learn something new about the treatment process. We do not know yet whether it will be necessary to implement non-reimbursed treatment - if so, it will cost several thousand dollars a month. Regularnie ucz\u0119szcza na badania oraz codzienn\u0105, prywatn\u0105 rehabilitacj\u0119. Ostatnie wyniki wskazywa\u0142y na wznow\u0119 nowotworu, jednak na szcz\u0119\u015bcie druga biopsja potwierdzi\u0142a, \u017ce to niegro\u017any guz.<\/p>\r\n Choroba odebra\u0142a Frankowi mo\u017cliwo\u015b\u0107 realizacji sportowych marze\u0144, ale dzi\u0119ki \u017cmudnej rehabilitacji ma szans\u0119 na lepsze funkcjonowanie na co dzie\u0144. Niestety, uszkodzonego nerwu strza\u0142kowego nie da si\u0119 naprawi\u0107 ani zoperowa\u0107 \u2013 jedyn\u0105 drog\u0105 jest sta\u0142a, intensywna rehabilitacja<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n Bardzo dzi\u0119kujemy za ka\u017cd\u0105 wp\u0142at\u0119 i okazane wsparcie. \u2764\ufe0f<\/p>
