My name is Kamila, I am 41 years old, I am the mother of the sweetest three-year-old and if it weren't for the diagnosis, I would probably lead a quiet and quite ordinary life. In 2019, in the 8th month of pregnancy, I was diagnosed with cancer - breast cancer<\/strong>. To start fighting for my health, the doctors decided to give birth earlier. Two weeks after the birth of my son, I started treatment - I received the first of 18 planned chemotherapy cycles. I was also subjected to additional tests that could not be performed earlier due to pregnancy. I received it in January However, after long-term treatment, I managed to return to fitness and professional activity. Unfortunately, just a few months after returning to work, the disease recurred - I was diagnosed with cancer metastasis to the liver. Further medical consultations, tests, and finally surgery to remove the tumor, long-term convalescence and a change in hormone therapy turned out to be necessary. However, the treatment turned out to be ineffective and after less than 6 months the cancer took over most of the liver.<\/p>\n I am currently receiving chemotherapy once a week from September 2022. Additionally, I try to do everything I can to support my body burdened by both the disease and aggressive treatment. I am the mother of the sweetest three-year-old and if it weren't for the diagnosis, I would probably lead a quiet and quite ordinary life. another diagnosis - cancer in the other breast, much more aggressive and dangerous than the original one. More drugs were added to the already implemented treatment regimen. In May 2020, I underwent bilateral mastectomy. After the surgery, I continued immunotherapy and started hormone therapy. Moreover, due to the confirmed BRCA1 gene mutation, which significantly increases the risk of ovarian cancer, in May 2021 I had an adnexectomy.<\/p>\n
I believe that the funds raised will allow me to finance medicines, dietary supplements, specialist consultations, some non-reimbursed diagnostic tests, rehabilitation, as well as access to innovative treatment and to look at cancer as a chronic disease, not as a terminal disease.
