I am 29 years old, a wife and mother of two wonderful boys \u2013 4-year-old Wojtek and 2.5-year-old Krzy\u015b. I fell ill with cancer in 2019. Being in the 14th week of pregnancy, at a check-up with a gynecologist, I found out about a lump in my breast. Diagnosis \u2013 malignant tumor HER 2 positive. Treatment, delivery and surgery, everything when I was pregnant, turned out to be a huge challenge. Fortunately, it quickly turned out that chemotherapy treatment was possible, while at the same time safe for the child. In December 2019, in the 37th week of pregnancy, I gave birth to a healthy son \u2013 Krzy\u015b. I ended up on the operating table a week after giving birth, then underwent a month of radiotherapy in a center in Warsaw, far from my loved ones. When we received the final test results, we thought that this fight was behind us. However, our joy did not last long. In August 2021, my husband began to feel worse. Tests showed that the cause was malignant lymphoma in the mediastinum. My husband has been undergoing treatment since September 2021.<\/p>\n
A year after my husband's diagnosis, while at a check-up, I learned that my disease had recurred. A tumor in the same breast, this time with metastases to the lymph nodes. It quickly turned out that my treatment options were limited. The chance for more effective treatment is given to me by drugs called double HER2 blockade, which unfortunately in my case are not reimbursed, and their cost is beyond our financial reach. After chemotherapy, I will also have an operation to remove the breast and lymph nodes, after which I will need expensive rehabilitation to get back to full fitness, which is extremely necessary with two lively little ones.<\/p>\n
I believe that with your help I will be able to complete the treatment and get rid of the cancer for good. I would like to return to a normal life with a calm head, have the strength and the opportunity to raise my sons and show them the world.<\/p>\n
