Mom about Daria: 'Before her illness, Daria was a very active person: she rode horses and bikes a lot, and ran. She helped organize horse riding and hippotherapy classes at the stable located in her hometown of Choczew. Before she fell ill, she graduated from a trade school an ambitious and hard-working girl<\/strong>!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

When I was 14, I was diagnosed with a tumor on my right femur<\/strong>. After tests, it was found to be a benign tumor. I went for check-ups for 8 years and during that time I had 3 biopsies done, but the result was always the same as before. At the beginning of 2016, I was hospitalized due to extreme pain in my leg. Another biopsy was performed, the result of which confirmed my suspicions - it was a malignant tumor.\u00a0From then on, my fight for health began.<\/strong>
After the diagnosis, I started chemotherapy, which in my case caused devastating side effects. Due to significant weight loss, I received parenteral nutrition and steroids. In addition, I have lost my hearing - I currently wear two hearing aids. I underwent several surgeries and managed to overcome lung metastases. I was training very hard all the time to make sure my leg was fine. After a few months, I completed the treatment successfully. After the initial problems with the endoprosthesis, I had one more surgery. After long rehabilitation, I finally started walking without crutches.
Unfortunately, at the end of 2018, the disease returned with a vengeance. Previously, the tumor was in the bone, and now it is in the tissues. I started fighting for my health again. This time it was necessary to amputate the leg. I had surgery on January 3rd. Fortunately, I had great support from family, friends and doctors. Thanks to them, I didn't fall into depression, and it was close.<\/p>\n

I finished treatment in May 2019. I managed to defeat this pest for the second time! I go for checkups every few weeks.<\/p>\n

After a long fight, I am now a picture of health. I enjoy every day spent with my loved ones. I started going to the stables again and gradually I'm trying to start riding again<\/strong>. It's one of my biggest dreams to ride with my friends again.<\/p>\n

I go to one of the rehabilitation facilities where they teach me how to maintain balance and strengthen the muscles of the entire body. I also want to try my hand at pole dancing! It may be difficult, but my enthusiasm and determination will definitely not allow me to give up!<\/p>\n

To regain mobility, I need a prosthesis consisting of three parts - a hip, knee and ankle joint.<\/strong>\u00a0Each of them is very expensive. The total cost of the prosthesis is almost PLN 200,000. zloty.\u00a0We are PLN 50,000 short of the full amount.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Po\u015bwi\u0119cam coraz wi\u0119cej czasu na rozwijanie pasji, tak by nie my\u015ble\u0107 tylko i wy\u0142\u0105cznie o chorobie.
