My name is Igor, I am 12 years old. Until the end of August 2020, life was normal. I spent my holidays like all my peers without any pain. I rode a bike, practiced aikido, and swam. My favorite activity, however, is playing YouTuber. I record videos about my games. Almost every Sunday, my parents and I went hiking in the mountains. Last year I climbed Tarnica and Kasprowy.<\/p>\n
In September 2020, however, everything changed. I started to feel\u00a0nagging pain in the knee<\/strong>. The pain was day and night. I even had a limp. The search for the cause took a long time - 5 months. The medical diagnosis was made in February 2021 \u2013\u00a0malignant bone tumor Ewing's sarcoma<\/strong>. From that day my whole life changed.<\/p>\n I spend most of my time in the hospital. I am undergoing treatment at IMID in Warsaw. I am undergoing chemotherapy. After the tumor is reduced, I will have surgery - insertion of a femoral endoprosthesis. Treatment with chemotherapy and radiotherapy will then be continued. I have trouble moving. I cannot function without constant care.<\/p>\n We reach the hospital 400 km away. Treatment, purchases of supplements and nutritional supplements, and the pending rehabilitation are high costs that the parents did not plan for. My dad works, but my mom has quit her job for now to take care of me.<\/p>\n —<\/p>\n Expenses related to treatment and commuting are currently approximately PLN 3,000 per month.
